The Moon is the Earths satellite, and as she travels around our beautiful planet, from our perspective and viewpoint here on Earth, she passes through each of the 12 signs of the Zodiac…and her energy is channeled through the energetic resonance or personality of that sign.

Whilst passing through each sign she also connects with and collaborates with any of the other planetary influences that are currently engaged with the energy of that particular sign. The Moon both influences these planetary happenings… sometimes adding weight to them and sometimes softening them, depending on the Moon phase… and these planetary connections also flavor the essence and energy of the Lunar influence.

When the Moon is noted as ‘Void of Course’, (VOC) it means that the Moon is no longer connected to any planetary collaborations that are currently resonant with a sign and so the Lunar energy is free from additional planetary influences. The ‘Void of Course’ period ends when the Moon enters the next Zodiac sign… and this period can last for minutes… or sometimes several hours.

I have noticed that this ‘Void of Course’ space affects people in uniquely individual ways…

For some, this Lunar freedom can feel quite liberating, creating a natural channel for insights, illuminations, and even increased motivation to flow through… however, for others, particularly during periods of extreme change and transition, the void of course Moon can feel a bit unanchored and directionless.

I have personally found it extremely helpful to notice how the void of course space affects me and to be aware ahead of time of any particularly long void of course periods… especially when my world is particularly busy!
